Family Fun Can Start in the Kitchen
Did you know that modern restaurants seek to create the “Conversation” atmosphere in the floor plans and their design? Businesses know that conversation between customers creates and stimulates a comfortable experience and familiarity, enjoyment. The more familiar contact that their customers feel, the more often they will return. The goal of the restaurant owner is that these customers stay longer and spend more money.
Create that same wonderful atmosphere at home. Family time doesn’t have to be limited to just the dinner table or sitting around the TV. Bring the family together long before dinner is served. How many times have you heard Mom, or yourself for that matter, say “I spend hours in the kitchen and every one is gone from the table in ten minutes”. Well, if you can’t keep them at the table as long as you’d like, start visiting before. Preparing and cooking your meal can and should be most of the fun.
Your kitchen can be a great place for gathering, this room is typically bright and well lit, and it’s a fun and busy place where there is something for everyone. Whether you have a large family or it’s just the two of you, conversation will abound while the chopping, dicing and sautéing is shared among you. Allow the little ones to stir and mix, taste and learn. Imagine how proud they will be when dinner is served and they got to participate.
Turn the heat up on a date, make things sizzle while the two of you peel and cut vegetables together, toss a salad, make sauces, whatever is on the menu, have fun spicing up the evening as well as the entrée.
So get to know your family on a whole new level, find some new recipes, some new ideas, but most of all enjoy each other.
